Hepatitis Often Has No Symptoms—Get Tested, Get Vaccinated, and Protect Your Liver

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. Some types of hepatitis are caused by viruses, including hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. Many people with hepatitis do not feel sick and may not know they are infected. If left untreated, hepatitis can cause serious liver damage, liver cancer, or liver failure.

Stages of liver damage. The first symptoms of liver problems are abdominal pain, swollen belly, yellow skin and eyes, dark urine.
